Sunnyking Crit - Anniston, AL

Sunnyking Criterium - Anniston, AL

The 3rd installment of the NCC series was run off in Anniston, AL today. With defending Sunnyking champion Johnny Cantwell moving to Europe for the 2012 season, a new winner would be guaranteed.

An early move consisting of Kenda Pro Cycling's red-hot Phil Gaimon and Team Exergy's Ben Chaddock forged a lead that reached 21 seconds before the hungry peloton began nibbling away at their advantage. After the slim gap was closed, no other breakaway threatened the race.

With the inevitable field sprint looming, Tino Alzate and the Mullervy twins took charge at 8 laps to go in the 60 lap event. The ever-improving young pros succeeded in preventing any dangerous late attacks and also placed Team Exergy fastman Carlos Alzate in the top 4 for the final sprint.

The difficult course and aggressive racing had softened the legs of all but the strongest riders and when the peloton rounded the final corner a mix of racers from 5 different squads occupied the first 5 spots. Without a controlling lead out train, a chaotic drag race ensued. 1st across the line; Kenda rider Isaac Howes, 2nd Carlos Alzate, 3rd Kyle Wamsley of Jamis/Sutterhome.

Next up on the NCC schedule is the grueling Speedweek races. 7 crits in 9 days begin next Saturday night with the Athens Twilight Criterium.

Team Exergy’s West Coast Squad continued to apply pressure today at Sea Otter Classic, taking first and second place in the SRAM Road Race and placing four riders in the top ten overall.

An early break in today’s 70-mile race put four racers off the front. Team Exergy’s Logan Loader and another rider bridged the gap to join the break, ultimately gaining a lead of three-and-one-half minutes before being pulled back in during the last three laps of the eight-lap circuit.

Unfortunately for Andy Jacques-Maynes in yellow, 2 of his Kenda Pro teammates were caught up in a crash on the first lap. Having lost a rider in that crash, Kenda found itself short-handed defending the General Classification lead.

Kenda’s hard work on the final lap gave Team Exergy’s Matt Cooke the opportunity to drop them on the finish line and take the win. Morgan Schmitt, who started the day just seven seconds behind Jacques-Maynes, crossed the line in second place, six seconds ahead of the yellow jersey.

Morgan now finds himself in familiar territory, starting tomorrow’s eight-mile individual time trial just one second away from the yellow jersey. Matt Cooke sits in third place overall, 1 minute and 31 seconds behind Jacques-Maynes. Noe Gianetti, in seventh, and Logan Loader, in ninth, round out Team Exergy’s riders represented in the top 10.

Tomorrow’s time trial begins at 3:30 p.m. Follow the action on Twitter @teamexergy #seaotterclassic or watch live streaming of the race online at uride.tv.

Team Exergy (West) Report from a Crit at Sea Otter.

Team Exergy has racers in AL., and CA. Here is the first report from the West Coast.

Team Exergy’s West Coast Squad made its presence known today as the four-day Sea Otter Classic got underway in Monterey, California. Team Exergy’s Morgan Schmitt made it into an early break along with Kenda Pro Cycling’s Andy Jacques-Maynes and Simple Green’s Connor McCutcheon. The three riders stayed away from the pack for the remainder of the one-hour criterium.
Their break finished in a 3-up sprint and crossed the line some 40 seconds ahead of the field. Jacques-Maynes took first place, McCutcheon came in second, and Morgan took third for the day. Team Exergy’s Logan Loader easily won the field sprint for fourth place.

According to Director Sportif Tad Hamilton, the boys all rode well while policing the front on today’s difficult course in defense of their teammate's advantage. Each one-mile lap around the bottom end of Laguna Seca Raceway featured two stinging climbs.

Team Exergy’s roster for Sea Otter includes Morgan, hometown favorite Loader, Sam Johnson, Matt Cooke, and Andres Diaz. The day also marked Noe Gianetti's first race with the squad, and his first race in the United States, as he acquitted himself nicely in this uniquely American race. Stage two’s 70-mile road race begins at noon tomorrow. Live coverage is available at www.uride.tv or follow on Twitter @teamexergy #seaotter.

Alpha Dog "That dog hunt"

What does Alpha mean when you use the term to animals, wolves, hounds. Denoting the dominant animal or person in a particular group.

That Dog Hunt!

When she's ready to hunt, she goes, Alpha's don't care to be slow "pack-fill".
Seems to be the case with the hounds in OR the past weekend road race, they just trail, but don't hunt?
So Sue just takes control and WN's.

Alpha's mate with Alpha's and Sue Butler husband Tim Butler is another dog that can hunt! They both are going to hunt even faster, I feel sorry for the hounds or pack-fill.

Team Exergy's WN's in NC.

The hardest thing about having is team, is a team that is a team! Exergy has a team!

The team was able to take control tonight in Charlotte NC and deliver Carlos to a Win!

This past weekend marked the debut of Team Exergy’s criterium squad
as the boys began their East Coast spring tour with the Presbyterian Hospital
Criterium in Charlotte, NC. Due to a travel delay for Faustino Alzate, the team
started with only five riders: Ben Chaddock, Kevin and Conor Mullervy, Carlos Alzate
and Serge Tvetcov.

They made their mark by getting results.

Just a simple tool.

Man picked up a stick and the world has never been the same!

The one's who didn't went away!

There are still cavemen with less congent minds, the
one's who think it's only "blood & guts".
It's the 80/20 rule!

Thank god, after a few million, or for the past hundred years, less than 10% are moving forward!
Perhaps there is hope?

Mass marketing understands the 80/20! Hang the plumb-line. The 80% will never know the difference, its easy to sell the voodoo to the less logical mind.

Social control!
