WN takes both Men & Women in Utah!

A report from Ron,

This Weekend was the inaugural Park City Point to Point 75 mile race in Utah.

The race was almost all single track (98%) with about 14k of climbing and a mass start. Pua went out hard taking the initial lead over the pro men and waking them up at the 7:00 am start.

After the first hour the top ten men and one women (Pua) had left the field and battled as they headed for the Deer Valley resort. When they reached the resort (after 2 hours) Pua had moved into 5th in the overall and had about a 15 minute lead over Amanda Riley (Kenda/Tomac/Hayes), who was in second for the women.

The lead five riders would separate even more from the almost 200 other racers and all would break the 8 hour time mark, the overall winner, Alex Grant (Monavie-Cannondale Wobble-naught & Myo-facts) almost coming in under the 7 hour mark.

Pua had a great race and finished only 30 minutes back of the 1st place pro male for 5th overall and 40 minutes ahead of second place female (Riley) for the women's win.

The race is one of the best in America, making most US endurance races look amateur. Pua and I cannot say enough about how incredible the Park City area are and how good a job Jay, Shannon and the whole team did with the Park City Point to Point. This is a must do race for any endurance Mountain Biker.
