Olympic mtb - Beijing, China

Spitz of Germany does well in heat, as she dominates her way to gold medal.

The race/heat was unforgiving and the course was made more technical than before, as some of the top mtb racers in the world not able to finish, e.g. Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa (Norway), Marie-Helene Premont (Canada), Margarita Fullana (Spain) obtaining DNF's.

Now that is what you call "TAXING", to take out that level of racer's!

So just to finish the race is a super job!  From the start Spitz held a commanding lead of about 50 seconds over the field.  Just shows you how important the start is.

Luna had two great results, with gals in the top 10, Catharine Pendrel & Georgia Gould.
We have watched  Georgia for a while now and we know she is more of a winter bird, that hot temps seem to take a toll on her.  So good job to not DNF like many of the top racers in the world.
