MTB World Cup XC #5 - CDM
St Félicien, Quebec, Canada, July 1, 2007
Race 1 - July 1: Women Cross Country, 33.6km
Russian Irina Kalentyeva (Topeak Ergon) won her second consecutive World Cup on Sunday in St. Félicien, Canada. She finished one minute ahead of local favorite, Canadian Marie-Helene Premont, of Rocky Mountain Haywood. Kalentyeva won the last round the previous weekend in Mont Sainte Anne.
Sabine Spitz (Ghost International) took third place ahead of two Americans: Willow Koerber (Subaru / Gary Fisher) made her second World cup podium appearance this year while Georgia Gould (Luna Women's MTB team) made her first appearance in the top five.
Georgia is getting faster each World Cup race. Super job by her, and by Willow Koerber, my hometown (Brevard, NC) native.
